About

People often remember me from a party as the girl who brought the homemade artisan cheeseball and who wouldn’t leave the dance floor. That’s right, a cheeseball– those things are good!

Most days you can find me flipping homemade camembert in my wine fridge, sipping wine or beer in a pairing class, or dreaming of where I’ll travel next.

Author of It’s Not You, it’s Brie: Unwrapping America’s Unique Culture of Cheese, I am a cheese and wine expert, beer drinker, writer, and home cheesemaking instructor. I love teaching people how to stretch mozzarella as much as I adore sharing my favorite French Alpine cheese in pairing classes!

I’ve presented twice at the annual American Cheese Society conference, judged cheese at the Good Food Awards, taught private classes classes for Google, Facebook, Adobe, and have written for NPR, LA Times, Kinfolk, and the SF Chronicle

From visiting Comté caves to wandering Chenin Blanc vineyards in France, I’ve traveled and taught cheese and wine pairing classes for over twelve years. In 2012 I published It’s Not You, it’s Brie: Unwrapping America’s Unique Culture of Cheese. In 2014 I flew to the British Isles to flip cheddar slabs in England and wash funky cheese rinds in Ireland with some of the world’s best producers in. I fell in with cutting curds while there and started teaching cheesemaking classes after I came home. They’ve been a hit! Now I’m working on a book about my cheese travels, teaching classes, visiting domestic and international cheesemakers any chance I get, and reporting back on my adventures on blog.

I want to make cheese and wine fun and approachable for you and your team!
